Dear Jaal,
I assume you're an Indian and so am I. I'm also a proud Indian who doesn't see the need to sling mud on any one community or people to make me feel proud of my nationality. There are ways to instill national pride, and then there are other ways. But what separates the Indian way from the rest is the Indian spirit it carries in its demeanour. I've never known my ancestors to have done what the Nazis did, or what Zia-ul-haq did, or what even Aurangzeb did - my ancestors have never held whole communities in disdain for the imperfections of a few.
Lastly, personally I hate fanaticism, whether it's a Muslim or a Hindu or the Narmada valley or anything else. I'm a staunch believer in constitution and law, in human responsibility and individuality.
I wish to convey a profound sense of angst at the Paki-specific material published at JaalMag, and I hope you will replace the word Paki with something non-political and reflect the true Indianness that we are so proud of.
Thanks
Ribhu K
Jaal: Other readers have also expressed an profound sense of angst over the content of Jaal, often in somewhat more colourful language. We invited suggestions for naming the section on Paki jokes and let's just say that we selected the one that was least offensive.

Dear Jaal,
Best wishes for the relaunch. Is it still going to be a satire thing or are you adding value? I think you must go into current affairs, one way or other.
Binoo John
Jaal: We thought of current affairs, but the AC/DC thing didn't really gel.
