For a change, we'll give our friends, the politicians, a break and serve up some gossip on the most politicised lost of them all - the media.
And, this is all about our desi Rupert Murdoch wannabe Subhash Chandra Goyal, and his media vehicle, Zee Television.
Actually, journalists in India have often snickered about how Zee TV was saffronised and placed the blame (or credit, depending on who you listen to) on Goyalsaab, who has stood steadfastly with the sanghwallahs.
But events of the past fortnight seem to have jolted the Zee crew.
Much blood has been split on the floors of the studio-cum-office in NOIDA that the channel makes its base. And recently it was honoured with a visit by the great personage himself. No, not Rajju Bhaiyya, but Subhashji.
Now, just before he arrived there was much activity within Zee; several heads rolled. These firings were somewhat inexplicable given that the victims were mainly faithful followers of the BJP.
But when Goyal came to town and, like a minister addressing his flock, sounded off to the remaining Zeewallahs, they were in for a shock.
First, Goyal openly admitted his fondness for the Sangh Parivar. However, his words thereafter chilled those with a saffron streak apparent.
He is understood to have said that despite his personal leanings, he was aghast at the overt bias of his news channel, which was supposed to be neutral. In fact, he complained about the jibes of Zee being the propaganda arm of the BJP.

Giving one example in particular, he spoke of one senior Zee editor, now sacked, who had traveled with the Prime Minister. On his return he had telephoned Goyal and informed him that the PM was unhappy with Zee. However, this cretin pointed out to Goyal, with a great deal of pride, that he had put things right. How? Well, he told the PM not to worry, because Zee was the BJP's own ("hum sab aap ke hain, aapake liye kaam kar rahe hain") and that Goyal, personally, led the sycophants brigade.
Obviously, Goyal is peeved at having been publicly embarrassed.
Goyal, apparently, has his reasons for having his channel look balanced. However, his managers may not have caught on to the not-too-subtle hint that their boss has been handing out. After all, they are now planning to take over The Pioneer, a daily that outdoes The Organiser in saffronness.
But, for the time being, Goyal wants to get the BJP tag off himself especially since he wants to keep all parties happy. And he wants to appear an industrialist in his own right rather than just the BJP's pet poodle with deep pockets, someone like Viren Shah, for instance, for whom the BJP could not even arrange the governorship of West Bengal.
There is also the latent concern that the colouring of Zee's views and news could backfire on the channel's expansion plans in the United Kingdom and the United States.
So now he's trying to clean put the Zee stables. Wonder if he has a shovel big enough for the job?
