Our cricket correspondent has been closely tracking the most important development in international cricket. No, no, it's not the Indian team finally winning a Test outside the subcontinent; it's has to do with a certain Laloo Prasad Yadav becoming the President of the Bihar Cricket Association. Given his ability to manipulate organisations, we believe that he has a bright future in the game. Here is one scenario:
The International Cricket Council has appointed Laloo Prasad Yadav to head the single-man inquiry into match fixing. He was the unanimous choice as the ICC felt that the controversy was too messy and candidates refused to get involved. Mr Yadav has been given a free hand to deal with all matters. Following his appointment the former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal president met the press and answered a few questions.
On the question of when he'd start his enquiry, Mr Yadav said that he would embark on the next available buffalo to commence his journey, holding his lantern to shed light upon the dark deeds. Asked what his plans were, Mr Yadav said that he was astonished by the extent of the match-fixing scam and wondered how it could have happened without his knowledge. He assured that he'd get to the bottom of the scandal and take remedial measures. Simultaneously he announced, in his capacity as RJD president, that he would grant amnesty to each cricketer who agreed to contribute at least 50 per cent of illegal earnings to the party's coffers and became a primary member.
Meanwhile former South African captain Hansie Cronje has been inducted into the RJD at his request and had been appointed as the president of the South African unit RJD.
Also, Australian Cricket stars Shane Warne and Mark Waugh have been appointed as the President and Secretary of the Australian RJD. This announced by Sadhu Yadav the secretary of the Bihar unit of the RJD.
Later, while addressing a massive rally in Patna along, Mr Yadav blamed the RSS for having fomented match-fixing. He said that "Shani Warni, Han-jee Crojnji were completely innocent". The Congress also supported Mr Yadav's contention, with its spokesman accused the BJ of masterminding it.
Later, in a dramatic move, Mr Yadav dissolved the International Cricket Council. He claimed that all match fixing was due to the ICC, a secret agent of the RSS. Finally Mr Yadav announced that he has appointed his wife and Bihar Chief Minister, Mrs Rabri Devi, as ICC President, he further indicated that the ICC headquarters is being moved to Patna from Lords with immediate effect.
